Pick up from Bandaranayake International Airport depart for Kandy, located 488 meters above sea level, which consists of the last strong hold of the Sri Lankan Monarchy and the home to the Sacred Tooth Relic, via Pinnawela Elephant orphanage and check in at and Stay 2 nights with breakfast at selected star class Hotel in Kandy, constructed on the place formerly known as Dunuvilla Wallauwa (ancestral home with a touch of Sri Lankan History).
After breakfast you are welcome to tour the city by visiting places such as the Hantanne Tea Factory Museum, Dalada Maligawa, the greatest attraction of the city and other sites such as Vishnu devale, Nutha Devale, Puttvi Devale, Wel Bodhiya and other cultural/religious sites and also take a walk through the Udawattekela Sanctuary with overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 3 & 4
Day 3 After breakfast leave for Habarana, the heart of Sri Lanka ‘s Cultural Triangle a destination to experience relaxation, cultural education apart of the country’s history and natural beauty, in the morning. On route to the hotel a stop over at the Dambulla (rock temple) and check in to selected star class Hotel, Stay 2 nights with breakfast.Both days (DAY3/4) can be used to visit Sigiriya and Polonaruwa the medieval capital of Sri Lanka, also the location where many monks have recorded and written early history on the Thuparama Gal Potha (Stone Book), and visit other places such as the Parakrama Samudra Royal Palace, the Kiri Vihara, Gal Vihara – the rock shrine and other sights with overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast leave for Trincomalee, a port city on the east coast of the finest natural deep – water harbour and of one of its kind in the world. Trincomalee is also referred to as Gokauna or Gorkana in the old times. Stay 2 nights with breakfast at selected star class Hotel, when you can spend time under the warm sun, pristine white sand and get your feet wet or have a swim on the gentle waves slip softly to shore and a tropical heaven. Further you may also take the opportunity to visit Fort Federick and the Hot Springs.
At your own leisure, with breakfast and overnight stay at the hotel. 2 DAY 8 & 9 Day 8 After breakfast leave for Nuwaraeliya in the morning, which is the heart of the Tea country located at an elevation of approximately 1980 meters in the central highs, which offer north tropical and cool mountain climate. In the nights the temperatures fall low enough to produce a frosty atmosphere. Stay 2 nights at selected star class Hotel and before check in visit Adam’s Peak and other desired locations. Return back at the hotel and have an elegant high tea or sip off brandy by a blazing fire in the evening and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast depart for Kandy for 1 night at selected star class Hotel. DAY 10 & 11
Day 10 After breakfast leave for Bandarawela, 10km north of Haputale and a busy market town which also makes it a good base for exploring the surrounding location. It also has an agreeable climate. Further every Sunday morning the town has a lively ‘Pola’ (market). Check in to selected star class Hotel and stay for 2 nights with breakfast. Day 10 & 11 can be used for sightseeing and visit requested places such as Worlds End, Horton Plains, Ambawella Farm.
DAY 12 & 13
Day 12 After breakfast leave Bandarawela in the morning and check in to selected star class Hotel, situated at the Kirinda bordering the Yala Wildlife Sanctuary and the ocean. With 10 acres of jungle life and miles of beach, a true nature resort of untamed beauty with luxury. Also visit the Yala sanctuary to get a glimpse of the night wildlife. On Day 13 after breakfast, from the hotel you can take a ride to have a closer experience with the wildlife. This Yala National Park, is the 2nd largest and most visited national park in Sri Lanka. The place consists of a variety of wild animals and notable for its Elephants, Leapords, Colourful Birds and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast leave for Galle, capital of the southern province is a city with a colourful history. An UNESCO declared World Heritage Site, the magnificent Dutch fort is the most popular attraction of the town. 300 year old Dutch atmosphere is still very much alive around the fort and amidst its many historical buildings not invaded by the skyscrapers. En route to Galle you are welcome for a visit to Kataragama, one of the most popular and sacred pilgrimage sites of Sri Lanka. Check in and Overnight stay at selected star class Hotel.
After breakfast and a few good days of travel and sightseeing, return back to Colombo, and stay 2 nights with breakfast at selected star class Hotel. At leisure. Here you have the opportunity for fine dining, sightseeing, shopping and have a dash of urban buzz.
